Deployment Examples

South Korea | Water Monitoring at Scale

X2M is a market leader in water digitisation across South Korea, current customers’ addressable markets cover 64% of the remote water monitoring market. The platform monitors 240,000+ households across 47 municipalities. It reads water meters installed in underground pits remotely, reducing water losses (non-revenue water) and giving municipalities the data for demand planning and leak management.

Japan | Gas and Water via Azbil Kimmon

Through its partnership with Azbil Kimmon, X2M is expanding into Japan’s 60-million-meter water monitoring market, representing approximately $100 million per annum in recurring software revenue potential. The same partnership supports gas bottle logistics management — a high-margin recurring software business that is already profitable.

UAE | Smart Gas Metering

In the UAE, X2M’s technology is licensed to Dicode Smart Connect Electronics for digital gas meters with integrated LoRaWAN communications. With government mandates requiring piped gas in all new buildings and smart metering penetration at just 7%, the growth opportunity is significant. Dicode is planning on expanding beyond Dubai into additional Emirates leveraging X2M’s low-capital, software-driven deployment model.

Dicode Smart Connect Electronics has multiple commercial customers and many undergoing trials including gas companies and real estate construction companies and uses LoRaWAN communications under a “Metering-as-a-Service” (Capex-to-Opex) model. Dicode Smart Connect Electronics has committed to using Vision by X2M for a minimum of 10 years, with X2M expecting approximately A$0.4M EBITDA per annum per 100,000 devices installed in the Middle East.

India | Electricity Metering

India’s government programme targets the rollout of 250 million monitored smart electricity meters — the largest smart metering initiative in the world. X2M is positioned in this market through working with a major Indian conglomerate.

Smart Meter Hardware Supply

X2M is also making available water and gas meters with integrated communications capability. These products will connect to the Vision by X2M platform and will currently be available in Australia and South Korea markets.
